Men over 35 years old may have low testosterone. Men have a 2-3% decrease each year. The fatigue, wider gut, decreased muscle mass and taking a longer than expected time to recover all may be signs of low testosterone levels.

The Center for Disease Control released the statement that by 2030, 42% of Americans will be obese, according to new estimates from the CDC. Currently, roughly 35% of adults fall into this category. In 20 years, 11% will be severely obese (100 pounds or more overweight), about double the current rate.
Researchers point out that earlier estimates forecast obesity rates above 50% and that the new estimates show a “leveling off,” which, as one warned, still represents a serious problem.
People with chronic sleep deprivation may be more likely to overeat, and their preference for energy-dense foods may predispose them to weight gain and its complications.

In this study, commercial weight-loss programs were cheaper and more effective (Weight Watchers was particularly effective) than noncommercial weight-loss programs. Editorialists speculate that commercial programs are effective because they provide intensive support (e.g., “the power of the group” in weekly sessions) and incentives, which sustain motivation and behavioral change. These results are similar to those of another trial in which Weight Watchers was superior to weight-loss advice provided by primary care practices.
